A 39-year-old Broomfield man is currently facing multiple felony charges, including charges for violent crimes and sex crimes involving a child, for allegedly sexually assaulting a minor and pimping her out to at least 30 strangers. According to the police report and court documents associated with the case, the teen girl met the suspect in 2011 through the foster family that she was living with at the time.

While the two were friends at first, the relationship reportedly turned sexual in October 2011 when the girl was only 14 years old. At that time, the suspect allegedly gave the girl alcohol and drugs and then had intercourse with her. According to the girl, she believed that she and the suspect were in love.

Soon after their sexual relationship was initiated, the suspect then allegedly coerced the girl into having sex with his friends and, eventually, into having sex with strangers. In fact, according to law enforcement officials, the man would pimp out the underage girl via ads on Craigslist in which he would offer her sexual services in exchange for money and meth (which he referred to with the code word “Tina”). The encounters reportedly occurred with more than 30 men at various motels.

Although the teen girl had been reported missing multiple times in 2012 and police had reportedly made an “exceptional effort” to find her, they were regularly thwarted. On multiple occasions, as the girl would later explain to cops, she would be hidden behind a false wall in the suspect’s basement when police came to search his house for her. Although the girl was eventually found in the man’s house in July 2012 and placed in a group home, she ran away and returned to the man with whom she believed she was in love. However, in July 2013, the girl had reportedly decided that she had enough of the alleged sexual abuse and jumped out of the suspect’s car to escape.

Currently, the suspect is being held on a $500,000 bond at the Jefferson County Jail. The preliminary hearing for this case has been set for December 5.
